Project Portfolio Leadership

Delivery of a successful business strategy depends on outstanding execution. Frequently, organizations miss critical deliverables putting the business - as well as its stakeholders - at tremendous risk.

Project Portfolio Leadership (PPL) translates and delivers your business commitments. PPL establishes clarity, resource loaded planning, and organizational accountability. Strategy becomes a predictable plan.

CASE STUDIES:

Company Growth

Client: Early Stage Medical Device Company

Project: Improve companies' ability to execute strategic projects in combination with managing increased complexity created by company growth and expansion.

Solution: Facilitated a process to achieve both clarity and priority of goals. Create cross-functional project teams for all critical projects. Establish executable timelines for all projects. Facilitate meetings as necessary to ensure planning, accountability, and communication. Develop project-tracking method. Initiate and facilitate corporate wide ongoing project reviews.

Outcome: 90% goal obtainment in the last measured quarter including dramatic over delivery of the highest priority program.

Client: Mature Medical Device Company

Project: A medical device company had changed the business model to include contract engineering and contract manufacturing. The company was having difficulty delivering on critical milestones for five new product development projects.

Solution: Waypoint initiated the engagement with a thorough assessment of the projects. An interim project manager was provided to both manage the five critical projects and to implement key infrastructure and systems.

Outcome: Resourced project plans were established with the client and their client companies. Major milestones were obtained on all projects during the interim management period. Waypoint participated in the selection and integration of new project management team.

Client: Very Early Stage Medical Device Companies

Project: Provide guidance for developing commercialization plans for companies who have received Phase II SBIR Grants from the National Institute of Health.

Action: Clarify product value proposition. Identify next step opportunities. Establish presentations to meet with both investors and strategic partners. Establish an 18-month actionable plan.

Outcome: Waypoint Leadership has provided this service to multiple clients. Results have varied depending on product type but several clients have received funding, and alliances made with several large strategic partners.
