The Team
Jeff Blanton, President and Managing Director. Jeff brings 30 years of industry experience including over 20 years in the medical device field. As a consultant and senior manager, Jeff's experience encompasses multiple functional disciplines including strategic planning, product development, quality/regulatory affairs, engineering, manufacturing and all areas of operations. Jeff has managed the full spectrum of projects including M&A integrations, company start-ups, plant closures, multiple turn around projects, and major international programs. He has held the position of Officer, Vice President of Engineering, Vice President of Operations, Director of Manufacturing, and Director of Project Offices. Jeff has a Mechanical Engineering degree and is a certified project manager. He is active in multiple local organizations associated with the Life Science Industry and continues to competitively race sailboats in the local waters off Southern California.
Jeff Forsberg, Senior Consultant. Jeff has over 20 years experience with development-stage and commercial medical device companies. He has held various titles in the areas of Manufacturing, Operations, Facilities, Information Technology and Validations. Jeff's ability to successfully manage a wide variety of critical internal and external projects has made him indispensable for the early stage medical device companies he consults for. Jeff has a track record of supporting multiple highly successful local companies, such as Chiron Vision, Revision Optics and Eyeonics to mention a few. He has a BS in Chemistry from Fresno State University and is a member of the International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers.
Marlene L. Paul, MS., Senior Consultant. Marlene has over 20 years of experience leading multi-disciplinary engineering project teams. She brings 15 years of medical device experience. She has managed projects for materials development, device and tooling design, process engineering, technology transfers, product and process validations, and intellectual property development to mention a few. Marlene holds nine published patents and has authored and presented multiple articles on various technical topics. She holds a BS degree in Engineering and a MS degree in Material Science and Engineering from the University of California at Los Angeles.
John Eberts, Senior Consultant. John has over 25 years of experience in the medical device and pharmaceutical industry. He worked in engineering, marketing, business development and sales. He has worked with many of large life science companies including American Hospital Supply, Colgate Palmolive, Kendall Corporation, IVAX Corporation, McGaw, B. Braun Medical, PurePulse Technologies, Edwards Lifesciences, and Bioniche Pharmaceuticals. His project experience includes working with trauma surgeons, urologists, ophthalmologists, hepatologists, gynecologists, oncologists, neonatologists, hematologists, and orthopedists. John holds a BS degree in Chemical Engineering from Stanford University as well as an MBA from Pepperdine University and an MA degree from Fuller Theological Seminary.
Susan Gerke, Training Consultant. Susan has over 30 years of designing, customizing and implementing leadership and teamwork programs. For ten years she has lead her own company, Gerke and consulting after leaving IBM as a manager of leadership development. Susan is a recognized expert on remote leadership and teaming, Susan is the co-author of The I in Team …Accelerating Performance of Remote and Co-Located Teams and Quick Guide to Interaction Styles and Working Remotely. She is also the co-author of Quick Guide to Interaction Styles and Time Dynamics. She has worked with many well known clients, Warner Bros, The Capital Group, Experian, and the City of Anaheim to mention a few. Susan has a B.S. degree in Statistics from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. She is a graduate of University Associates Human Resources and Organizational Development Intern program.
